Woman & her daughter found dead in water tank

Bognor: Police in Shak- rabid village, Aroha are investigating the deaths of Aliya (30) and her 3-year-old daughter, Mariam, after their bodies were found floating in a water tank at their home on Thursday evening. The incident came to light after Aliya’s mother-in-law, Moniz, opened the tap to wash her hands but no water came out.

She sent her grandson to check the water tank, and he found the cap of the tank open, with the bodies inside. Police were in- formed, and the bodies were taken to a district hospital for an autopsy.

The postmortem ex- amination did not show any external injuries, but police have not ruled out foul play and have detained Aliya’s husband, As Mohammad, and father-in-law, Mohammad Yaseen, for questioning. Aliya was known to be slightly handicapped, and the circumstances surrounding the pair’s deaths remain a mystery.
