Bengaluru : A 70 – year – old aide of forest brigand Verapaz serving life term for his role in the 1993 Paler bomb blast that killed 22 police personnel , died due to health issues at Victoria Hos petal in Bengaluru on Sun day . Prison sources said the deceased Sokar Madhavi was lodged in Central Prison , Mysuru . He suffered a brain stroke recently and was shifted to Victoria Hospital . He did not respond to treatment and breathed his last around 1.30pm . According to sources , Madhava was initially sentenced to death along with his co – accused .
Later , the Supreme Court commuted his sentence to life imprisonment over the delay in execution of the death sentence .
” Micaiah was shifted to a hospital in Bengaluru from Mysuru jail for further treatment on April 11. He died on Sunday , ” Manish Khasab Kar , additional director general of police ( prisons & Correct tonal Services ) .
