Dehradun : The Uttarakhand tourism department has planned to set up what it has termed a ‘ tourism force to aid visitors coming to the Himalayan state. State tourism minister Satpal Maharaj said that the personnel for this force will be drawn from departmental staff and outsourced employees. Titled ‘ paryatan veers ‘, the personnel will interact with hotels and resorts and keep an update on the staff working there, Maharaj said.
Maharaj said he has discussed the project with his departmental officials and directed them to come up with a concrete plan at the earliest. ” Lots of tourists come to Uttarakhand for a day or two. If they have issues related to hotel, taxi, or chopper bookings, they can not wait for long. Under such circumstances, a special ised force needs to solve their grievances at the earliest, ” the minister said. He added that the force would also aid police, who get swamped during peak tourist season.
