Moradabad DM Shailendra Singh ” The Madrassa survey report has been submitted by most of the districts, and we have so far the highest number of unrecognized madrassas, followed by Bijnor. The number of unrecognized madrassas may increase further as in certain cases, people run them from their houses. We can’t term these madrassas illegal as there is no registration law for them. We are waiting for further directives on this issue.

Meanwhile, the mufti of Jamia Naeemia madrassa, Ayyub Nayeem, said, ” We have asked the committee members of all madrassas to cooperate with the survey and ensure they get their madrassas registered with the board in Lucknow. They should complete all paper works at the earliest or else face trouble. “

Another local mufti, Baqar Ali, added, ” We have offered all support to madrassas for completing their registration work. I also request the government to provide grants to those seminaries that are registered as they provide education to poor children. “
