Teacher from Jaipur swept away in Ganga during rafting , search on

Dehradun : A 34 – year – old primary teacher from Kendra Vidyalaya in Jaipur was swept away while rafting in Ganga in Rishikesh on Friday afternoon .

Harish Kumar Meena was part of a 13 – member teacher’s group , which reached Rishikesh on Friday morning to spend the long weekend .

Giving details of the incident , Rakesh Meena , a member of the group , ” We were asked to jump into the river by holding the rope that is around the raft . In the meantime , Rakesh was hit by another raft coming from behind . As a result , his life jacket and helmet dropped and then he fell into the water and did not come out . “

Resident of Bednar in Jaipur , Rajasthan , Harish is survived by a wife and daughter , his friend Rakesh Meena said .

On March 7 , three people , including two students from a private university in Dehra dun , drowned in Ganga here in two separate incidents .
