Dehradun : Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited Uttarkashi on Wednesday to take stock of the rescue and relief operations in the avalanche tragedy on Tuesday.

The Uttarakhand government announced a compensation of Rs 2 lakh to the next of kin of the deceased , Rs 1 lakh for those with serious injuries and Rs 50,000 for minor injuries . The CM also interacted with people injured in the Pauri bus mishap incident .

Take Stock Of Situation

Dhami directed the district authorities to provide the exgratia at the earliest .

On Wednesday morning . the CM first went to the busaccident site in Pauri and there after to the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering ( NIM ) control room in Uttarkashi to collect updates on the rescue operation. .

In Pauri , CM Dhami went to Kotdwar Base hospital in Simdi , where he met the injured people and interacted with their family members and doctors . ” We are ensuring the best possible medical facilities and the family members have been assured of all possible assistance , ” CM Dhami said .

Meanwhile , the CM has asked the Pauri DM to prepare a list of locals who helped in the rescue operation following the bus mishap and announced to reward them . The CM also visited the disaster control room in Dehradun and interacted with the authorities on efforts underway.
