Dehradun : Student leaders from Akhil Bhartiya Vaidya this Paris had ( ABVP ) are urging educational institutions to develop happiness centres to address the issue of student suicides . ” Student suicide numbers are high across the country . These centres should provide a safe space to students for them to come forward and share their issues for which they should also get adequate counselling if necessary , ” said national general secretary , ABVP , Yagywalkya Shukla . Students are also demanding start – ups and innovation centres at higher education levels to help encourage development and technical prowess of students .

” Then there is the issue of no transparency in evaluation of examinations that are conducted online . Students need to be aware of the evaluation process and we need a more transparent system in place , ” said Shukla . Members of the organisation also said that in the light of changes in curriculum via the New Education Policy and with the NCERT also making ‘ factual ‘ changes , thorough focus needs to be given to the content .
