Bognor : Terrified after the death of two of his wives one after the other , a farmer in Aroha ended up paying a tantric R 61 lakh to exorcise his ghosts . It was when the shaman asked for R 11 lakh more and 40 – year – old Chaman Singh could pay no more that he approached the police for help . The tantric , Raheem Ahmed , and 13 others in his gang , including four women , have now been booked for fraud .
Singh , a resident of Neoga wan Sadat in Aroha district of UP , said it wasn’t just the loss of his wives that com pounded his anxiety . Four of his buffaloes died mysteriously .
Owner of 12 bighas of land , it was an acquaintance , Mad Salim who took Singh to the Bognor – based tantric , who ad vised him to donate goldarn mints to the gods or his son would die . Disturbed , Singh sold off his land and offered R 61 lakh for rituals to ward off the malevolence . Later , another R 11 lakh was demanded , which made the farmer suspicious , forcing him to take the help of cops .
Circle officer Satish Chand Pandey said police have registered a case against all the ac caused under relevant sections of the IPC . ” They have been booked for fraud and further investigation is on . “
