Dehradun : Dehradun police, in their ongoing probe of the daylight robbery at the house of state finance minister Premchand Aggarwal’s cousin in the Doiwala area of the city, arrested four accused on Wednesday, and have received inputs about the five absconding.
According to police, the five absconding robbers are hiding in UP with the majority of the valuables, includ in jewelry, looted from the house. Among the arrested is the main accused, identified as building contractor Mehboob Ali ( 40 ), a native of Muzaffarnagar who was currently residing in Doiwa la for the past few years. He is said to be the main conspirator in the case.
The other arrested persons have been identified as Munawwar Ali ( 27 ) and Shamim ( 30 ), both residents of Muzaffarnagar, and Tehsim Qureshi ( 39 ), a resident of Shamli in UP
One of the police officers, privy to the investigation, said that the five ab absconding accused, identified as Riyaz Mulla, Naved Iqbal, Meherban Bawla, Wa sim, and Tauqeer are ” hiding in neighboring districts of western UP “.
” Our 12 teams have been tasked to nab all the accused. A couple of them are trying to flee to Delhi, but our teams are tightening the noose on them, ” said the officer.
Earlier on Wednesday, after interrogating the contractor, police said that he was familiar with the house and the victim’s family as he had worked there two years ago.
