While Bilawal spoke about alleged human rights violations in J & K, his German counterpart Annalena Baer bock had said after her meeting with him that Germany also had ” role and responsibility with regard to the situation in Kashmir and, therefore it supported ” intensively the engagement of the United Nations, to find the peaceful solutions in the region.

” All serious and conscientious members of the global community have a role and responsibility to call out international terrorism, especially of a cross-border nature, said the Indian government in its response. ” The Indian Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has borne the brunt of such a terrorist campaign for decades. This continues till now. Foreign nationals have been victims there, as also in other parts of India, ” said MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi, adding that the UN Security Council and FATF were still pursuing Pakistan – based terrorists involved in the horrific 26/11 Mum bai attacks .

” When states do not recognize such dangers, either because of self-interest or indifference, they undermine the cause of peace, not promote it. They all so do grave injustice to the victims of terrorism, ” said the Indian official. This is not the first time Baerbock wad ed into what India believes is purely a bilateral issue. She had said during her visit to Islamabad in June this year that she supported the resolution of the Kashmir issue in accordance with the UN resolutions.
