Dehradun : Following the brazen killings of gangster – turned – politician Atif Ahmed and his brother Ashraf in Prayagraj , Uttarakhand police have decided to strengthen the security of chief minister ( CM ) Pushkar Singh Dham and cabinet ministers .
In a meeting of state director general of police ( DGP ) Ashok Kumar with the senior police officers on Monday , it was decided to re view the existing security arrangements of the CM and strengthen it further .
Speaking on the development , V Murage san , additional director general ( law & order ) said , ” In the aftermath of the incident in Prayagraj , we have issued a high alert across the state , especially in the four key districts , Dehradun , US Nagar , Haridwar and Nainital . “
He added , ” As per the set protocol , a review of CM’s security enhancement is done on regular intervals based on the inputs from state intelligence units and other security agencies . This time we have decided to strengthen the access control and anti – sabotage measures in the security of the CM and other cabinet ministers . “
