‘Modi narrates his own agony, doesn’t listen to people’s woes’

Dharwad: AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vada took a dig at Narendra Mo- di on Saturday, saying he’s the only Prime Minister in recent times who narrates his agony before people in- stead of listening to their woes. “I have seen many Prime Ministers, right from Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, PV Narasimha Rao, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, to Manmohan Singh, but Modi is the first PM who bothers about his plight rather than the public’s,” she said at a public rally in Navalgund town of Karnataka’s Dharwad district, about 500km from Bengaluru.

She alleged that the BJP government does not respect anyone, be it the people, their votes, or the state it is governing. On the BJP’s Lingayat face Jagadish Shatter joining Congress, she said: “Corruption is done so brazenly (in BJP) that those who are corrupt are getting tickets to contest polls while those who are not, are denied a ticket.”

‘Modi narrates his own

She claimed Modi makes a phone call to those who are tainted and dishonest. “Contractors are committing suicide; school managements and con- tractors’ associations write to the Prime Minister about corruption, but nothing happens.

There is so much corruption that an MLA’s son is caught with R 8 crore, but no action is taken,” Priyanka alleged, urging people to vote carefully on May 10. “It is not in the interest of the country and the state when people are not respected; politicians forget that it is the people who make them leaders. (BJP) Governments are formed only to grab power and make money,” she E added.
