Agra: A 17-year-old girl on Thursday evening allegedly died by suicide after jumping from the sixth floor of a multi-storey building in area under the limits of New Agra police station. Police have sent the body for post- mortem and are investigating further.
The incident took place at Ramji apartments in Kailash Vehar colony where the deceased worked as a full- time maid in the house of one Simi Anand (62) who lives with her two grandchildren, said police.
Her family members alleged that she was being mo- lested and not allowed to leave the apartment and talk to family members. However, the house owner claimed that the girl died by suicide following differences with her family members. “They were against her relationship with a man with whom she was in regular touch,” said Si- mi, whose son and daughter-in-law live in Punjab.
SHO Surendra Kumar said, “An FIR will be Regis treed in the matter on the basis of the complaint received from the deceased’s family members.”
