Srinagar : J & K police searched Saturday a dozen locations in Srinagar, Anantnag, and Kulgam districts following threats to several Kashmiri journalists and media houses by The Pakistan – based Lashkar – e – Taiba and its shadow outfit The Resistance Force.

The police had on November 12 filed a case against LeT and TRF terrorists for sending threat letters to journalists in Kashmir, TRF had also issued an online threat to a few media houses in the Valley for their ” traitorous ” acts and ” nexus with fascist Indian regime “. Several journalists resigned after the threats.

Turkey-based terrorist Mukhtar Baba and six of his contacts in J & K are suspected to be behind the threats. A police spokesperson said the houses of Baba, 55, and another fugitive named Sajjad Gul and other suspects were searched.
