Dehradun : As part of its continued action against encroachments in the city , the Dehra dun traffic police department challenged three hotels – a five – star hotel on Rajput Road among one of them – while also penalising several food joints .
” We are not getting enough support from hotels and business complexes in ensuring smooth traffic in the city . Some of these stab lishenets are using the public space outside to park vehicles of their customers .
Anti – encroachment action is not only against roadside vendors or small businesses . We will take action against all violators , including five – star hotels . It was one of the three that have been penalised under the Police Act and challenged for R 10,000 , ” said superintendent of police , traffic , Akshaya Kunde , on Thursday .
The security head at the hotel said the mem random was received from the department and the hotel is following all regulations and no encroachment has been done . SP Kunde also said that warnings have been issued and a week’s time has been provided to ensure that space outside is cleared , else a case under IPC can be registered .
