Dehradun: Six burglars, yet to be identified, robbed cash and jewelry alleged to be worth around Rs 1 crore from the house of Sheesh pal Aggarwal, a businessman and the cousin of state finance minister Premchand Aggarwal.

The incident happened at Aggarwal’s Doiwala house around 11 am Saturday, once he had left for his shop at Doiwala Square.

The burglars held Aggarwal’s wife and two maids captive and went through lockers and almirahs, before gathering valuables and fleeing within one hour.

Speaking about the incident, Daleep Singh Kunwar, senior superintendent of police ( SSP ), Dehradun, said, ” Police have registered a case and formed five teams to probe the case. The faces of the accused were captured in the CCTV cameras installed in the colony and they would soon be captured. Police are also ascertaining the amount of the valuables looted in the dacoity. “

” The burglars knew where all the valuables were. One of them even pointed a gun at Sheeshpal’s wife, saying their son living in Delhi is with them. Another man was standing guard near Sheesh pal’s shop to inform them in case he leaves for home, he said. ” All this points to the involvement of someone who was well-known to the family. They probably took items worth Rs1 crore. he added.
