New Delhi: The Jal Shakti ( water resources ) ministry in association with the Western Sydney University and the Australian Water Partnership programme on Wednesday launched an app – My Well – for farmers and ordinary citizens for participatory monitoring and visualisation of groundwater, surface water, rainfall, water quality, check dam water levels, and other parameters. This app will be used by villagers trained to manage their groundwater resources. The initiative is part of a larger India – Australia partnership for addressing India’s water challenges.

Under this partnership, an innovative Young Water Professional Programme has also been initiated in association with IIT, Guwahati. The objective of this programme is to build the capacity of Young Water Professionals ( YWPS ) and to provide them with the required knowledge, skills, and attitude .
