Aligarh: A sub-inspector of the excise department was found dead in his room at a sugar mill in Muzaffarnagar on Friday.
SHO of Purkazi, Dhyaneshwar, said, ” Ashok Kumar, 55, who was originally a resident of Agra, had slept in the room late. The staff got suspicious when he did not come out in the morning. Police later broke open the door from a ceiling fan. “
His relatives in Agra were informed.
Police, so far, have no clue as to what led him to the extreme step. The body was sent for postmortem.
Police said an investigation is being conducted and all items found in the room have been seized.
District excise officer, Uday Kumar Singh, said, The officer was posted in Ju ly at the Sugarmill in the Purkazi area and was working well. After his work, he returned to his room on the mill premises. The next morning when he didn’t come out, other employees called the police. “
Later on Friday, Kumar’s sister and brother-in-law arrived in Muzaffarnagar and brought his body to Agra.
