Dehradun : Uttarakhand director general of police ( DGP ) Ashok Kumar on Sunday gave a three-day ultimatum to the police units of US Nagar, Dehradun, and Haridwar districts to solve three recent cases which have ” put a question mark on the state’s law and order “. The DGP issued the directions on chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s orders to improve law and order, citing the three cases.

US Nagar police have been asked to solve the case of a mining trader who was shot dead in front of his house by unidentified assailants on October 13.

Dehradun police were asked to solve a case of dacoity at the house of finance minister Prem Chand Aggarwal’s cousin in Doiwala.

Lastly, Haridwar police have been asked to solve the case of the alleged firing of cops there a few days ago.

” If they fail to solve the cases and nab the accused, the station house officer and circle officer concerned would be removed. Also, the senior superintendent of police concerned would be considered to be a failure in curbing crime, “
