CM forms 3 – member probe panel headed by retired HC judge

Lucknow : Chief Minister Yogi Aditya Nath on Sunday formed a three – member social committee to probe the killing of gangster turned – politician Atif Ahmed and his brother Ashraf Ahmed .

The commission will be headed by Allahabad high court judge ( red ) Arvind Kumar Tripathi , and will have two other members retired judge Brijesh Kumar Sony and former DGP Subash Kumar Singh .

The commission will give its report in two months . Principal secretary , home , Sanjay Prasad confirmed the constitution of the inquiry committee .

It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has been keeping strict and consistent vigil on the entire case since the killing took place on Saturday night . Earlier , the CM had jointly called the Home Department , DGP and DG Special at his residence and held a high – level meeting on law and order , after which Section 144 was imposed in the state . Apart from this , the police started foot pa trolling in various districts .

In addition , heavy security forces were deployed in the sensitive areas of the state to maintain law and order .

An official said that the CM was keeping a strict vigil on the entire case since the killing took place on Saturday night .

Earlier , the CM jointly called the home department officials , DGP and DG Special at his residence for a high – level meeting on law and order , after which Section 144 was imposed . ” Po lice has started foot patrolling in various districts .
