Bognor : A 55 – year – old BJP worker attempted to kill himself by consuming poison on Sunday night after being denied a ticket for UP civic elections .
According to the victim’s family , Muktesh Saxena , city general secretary in Aroha , had been lobbying for months for the forthcoming civic elections on May 4 from ward 27 of Mandi Chau area but his name was not shortlisted and the tick et was given to someone else .
Dejected over the develop- mint , he tried to kill himself at his residence and was rushed to a private hospital , where his where his condition is said to be stable .
Party’s district general sec return , Rakesh Verme , said , Muktesh has been a devoted party worker since the last two decades and was a strong con tender for the ticket . But the par ty declared Shani Saxena as its candidate , who is a newly appointed member in the party . Upset over this , Muktesh took the extreme step . “
