Dehradun : Around teams of the Income Tax conducted department raids against hoteliers, in industrialists, and property dealers at various locations in Dehradun and Rishikesh on Thursday.
The raids were conducted in the Nashville area and Race Course road of Dehradun, besides the premises of the businessmen and property dealers. According to sources, 11 locations in Dehradun and eight in Rishi kesh were raided.
The IT teams were alleged to have collected vital information during these raids. From around 7.30 am till the filing of the report, the tax teams went through the documents, collected information, and took details of the financial transaction. The documents also included several papers related to properties and the sale and purchase of lands.
While authorities remained tight-lipped, sources said that the raids were conducted by personnel from Delhi.
They further added that similar raids are being conducted in Saharanpur and Delhi as well.
The raids in Dehradun were led by the department’s additional director Thakur Mapwal and deputy director Ritesh Bhatt. No disclosure was made by the authorities concerned.
The maximum number of team members were from Delhi, while a few staff members posted in Dehra dun also assisted. The local police also helped in these raids, said sources.
