This precautionary measure follows the unfortunate death of a tigress from bird-flu-related complications at the Gorakhpur Zoo.

The alert was raised after the tigress succumbed to the virus, prompting concern over potential avian flu exposure to other animals. Health checks are underway for various species housed within the zoos. Notably, Kanpur Zoo has been closed after a lion exhibited symptoms consistent with avian flu.
