Dehradun: A 23-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping his 19-year-old sister on several occasions over the past five months, police said on Sunday.
According to police, the accused, who works as an auto- rickshaw driver, was arrested on Saturday after the victim filed a complaint against him late on Friday. He was then presented before the local court, which sent him to jail.
Sub-inspector Tanuja Shar- ma, who is investigating the case, said, “The complainant was residing with her brother in the city for the past year. Their parents had divorced several years ago and got remarried. She lived with her father before, but left the house after a tiff with her stepmother.”
“The accused raped her for about five months before she gathered the courage to lodge a complaint. The police will take her for a medical examination on Monday,” she added.
