Dehradun : The special investigation team ( SIT ) of Uttarakhand police in its ongoing probe of the murder of a 19 – year – old Pauri Garhwal girl at the Rishikesh resort, has recorded the statements six have testified before over 30 witnesses of which court so far.
Police said the SIT is still recording statements of witnesses while” probing the case from all angles “.
V Murugesan, additional director general of police ( ADGP ), law & order, on Thursday, said, ” The SIT has so far recorded statements of over 30 witnesses in the case and the process is on to record statements of a few more.
Murugesan added, ” Of the 30 witnesses, six recorded their statements before the sessions court in Kotdwar, Pauri Garhwal. “
The ADGP also informed that the Chandigarh forensic laboratory and the Dehra dun – based forensic laboratory has submitted their preliminary reports of the investigation of electronic and visceral evidence, respectively, to the Kotdwar court.
Murugesan further said, ” As per the legal procedure, the reports have been submitted to the court, which would later hand it over to the SIT. We will receive it in a few days after which a charge – sheet would be filed in the court following the completion of the probe, likely in the next 10 days. “
On October 8, police added charges of sexual harassment and inducing a person into prostitution against the three accused, including resort owner and main accused Pulkit Arya. The three were earlier booked for murder, criminal conspiracy, and disappearance of evidence.
