Dehradun: Amid the ongoing probe by the SIT in the murder of Ankita Bhandari who worked at a resort in Rishikesh, the preliminary forensic examination reports of the visceral samples of the girl have ruled out sexual assault.
A police officer, privy to the development, on condition of anonymity, told TOI that the report was received on Saturday.
” The preliminary reports of forensic examination of the girl’s visceral samples didn’t mention any sexual assault before she was killed. It corroborates with the postmortem examination report by AIIMS Rishikesh, which too ruled out the same, ” said the officer.
The reports were received by the SIT from the local court in Kotdwar, Pauri Garhwal, which had received them from the forensic department in Dehradun. Meanwhile, V Murugesan, additional director general of police ( law & order ) Uttarakhand, said, ” The SIT is about to complete its investigation, after which it would likely file the charge sheet in the next 10 days. We have also written to the government as per the procedure for the trial of the case in a fast-track court. “
