Missouri : Fifty – five doctors including 12 women completed a training of six weeks at Missouri’s ITBP Academy and will be joining active duty as assistant commandant medical officers now .
The medical officers have an important role in the force as they have to render their seer vices to make the jawars physically and men tally fit and healthy , ” said Manoj Singh Rawat , additional director general of ITBP who was the chief guest on this occasion . For the first time there were trained in ‘ Krav Manga ‘ training , a method used for training special commando of the Israel army .
At a passing out parade held at the academy campus on Friday these officers dedicated themselves to the service of the nation .
These officers were provided rigours training in military and police related subjects like weapons handling , physical training , intelligence , map reading and physical training . ITBP was forum lasted in the year 1962 with an aim to safeguard the northern Indo – China border as a special border force and its jawars and officers are professionally trained mountaineers . ITBP has been deployed on Indo – China border manning high altitude posts . Over the years role of ITBP has been extended and in 1987 it was assigned security duty in disturbed Punjab .
